  53. Hate to tell you, but the *only* mud code you're going to find is for
  54. TCP/IP.  Though there is one that works over Appletalk on the Mac, I
  55. guess (hadn't thought about that).  You're either going to switch over
  56. to TCP/IP (easy) or totally rewrite the MUD driver (not so easy).

  109. There's nothing weird about that at all.  In the early 60's the US military
  110. ran a 4 channel multiplexed RTTY link between Washington and Honolulu via
  111. EME for several years although for a 2 Mbaud data rate I think you'd need
  112. a bit better link margin than you mentioned.  I'm surprised that it hasn't
  113. been done already.  With the current decline in the solar cycle one system
  114. like this would probably be able to handle 80% or more of the transatlantic
  115. packet traffic.

  133. I don't recall RSX being particularly derived or inspired from CPM...and i 
  134. recall there was some way to handle directories and such on RSTS/E (around 
  135. 1975 or so...it's been a while...).

  170. I can't speak for the MFH-12745C, but I have been using an MFJ-1278-T 
  171. (multi-mode TNC)for about 2 years, and it's worked flawlessly.

  173. It came with a terrific 1.5" thick instruction manual detailing every aspect of 
  174. operation, including installation instructions for several popular radios, as
  175. well as a complete guide to user alignment of the filters and modem.
  176.  
  177. I've dragged my MFJ TNC into the woods camping dozens of times now,
  178. operating it and my VHF rig on batteries without a single failure or
  179. complaint.  I love it.
